Become a Literacy Volunteer!
There are many opportunities to help support Literacy Volunteers Serving Adults (LVSA) other than serving as a tutor. Here are some ways:
Help out at the LVSA office.
Serve as a member of one of our various committees including Fund Development, External Affairs, Special Events and Programs.
Support our events and spread the word. Come to our special events, such as our SCRABBLE Spellebration. Join in the fun and meet our students, volunteers and other supporters.
Whatever time commitment you can make, we welcome your efforts. This could be just once a year at a special event or during our annual donor campaign; or, on an ongoing weekly or monthly basis. Help is needed with fundraising, speaking to community groups about Literacy Volunteers, planning tutor training workshops, typing, editing the newsletter, answering phones, recruiting students and tutors, publicizing Literacy Volunteers, and many other activities.
