LVSA in the News
Look at another way LVSA is reaching out to fulfill its mission of "Opening Minds...Changing Lives." In January, Cindy and Alyssa were involved with the start of the Q-Pod "Boarding School" project at Howard Young Correctional Institution. They were contacted to provide literacy tutor training to selected inmates and educational staff involved with the school. For four mornings, a specially tailored LVSA training, prepared the inmates to begin their work tutoring others with literacy needs. Cindy and Alyssa continue to be involved with the school "behind the scenes," providing additional training, advice, and support. View the video.
